As promised

All of us, minus Cameron, in front of the fireplace in the Maddox Restaurant.
Aren't we one good looking group?
I am finally getting Day 1 of our Swigert Family Reunion pictures posted as promised.

On Wednesday, May 18th, we all met for the first time in over a year at the famous Maddox Restaurant in Brigham City, Utah.  Here we mingled and then had a very delicious lunch.

Cameron, you REALLY missed out.  I still can't get over how good my salmon was, and I won't even mention their homemade rolls with raspberry butter--or the fact that Ryan and I stopped on our way back to SLC and bought another dozen to eat just ourselves.  I think I am still wearing mine around my waist.  But definitely worth every bite!

Mingling, mingling, mingling, before lunch.

Uncle Jason attempting to tell Gracie hello.  She will admire her relatives from afar- thank you.

She is thinking about forgiving her Dad for handing her off to strangers.

Jace with his favorite cousin Ellie.

Food to die-for equals a table full of happy people!

After lunch, we all drove up the beautiful Logan canyon to the Sherwood Hills Resort.  We all had adjoining rooms and the entire resort all to ourselves.  We rented out the entire place!  Not really. But we really were the only guests.

We played games and went swimming the entire evening.

Grammy and Nathan winning the game!

The game was as intense as it looks!  I forgot to ask who finally won. Oh ya, Ryan of course.

Poppy and BreeAnn

Jace Charles!

Nicole and Aubrey!
Enjoying the splendid hot tub.

Jace LOVED the waterfall!

You think Wednesday was exciting,  just wait until you see what we did on Thursday!

Got a lot done

Gracie having a taste of the garden dirt.  She couldn't quite wait for the vegetables to grow.
We got a lot done today for the holiday.  It feels so good.  We cleaned up the house, finished planting our garden, and then fenced our garden to keep out Peter Cottontail. Grace then got a bath and nap, and I did a little QUILTING!

Ryan took on the mammoth job of cleaning out the garage with Jace's help. A little while later, Grace and I showed up to help out the boys with their project. When we were done the garage looked great, and both kids got another bath.

We finished off the day by having Family Home Evening and going for a walk.

It really was a lovely holiday.

Jace helping his Dad cut the planks for the garden. "Thanks for giving me these awesome gloves for my 3rd birthday Grammy and Poppy."
Ryan's the MAN!

More Utah trip pictures coming soon!

The water came

The irrigation water came and filled every ditch in my parent's backyard. For 5 long hours Robin and Rue had running, swirling water to play in.  How absolutely wonderful it was.

Wouldn't you agree they put every drop to GOOD use?

Came home from Utah with the Plague

Gracie Rue sporting her hip sunglasses.
Four days of overwhelming dizziness along with burning, itching red welts all over my back, belly, and legs drove me into the doctor's office this morning.  I told Ryan last night, as he was drenching me in hydrocortisone cream to help relieve my unbearable plight, that I came home from Utah with the plague.

But alas it was not the plague but Contact Dermatitis and Positional Vertigo.  Both, such pleasant maladies. Fortunately they will heal in time.  I started a 12-day regimen of Prednisone tonight and the vertigo will hopefully go away soon.

So don't worry.  I should be back to my normal, productive self in a few days and able to get my Utah trip pictures posted. I know you are all waiting with baited breath to see what we were up to in the western state.

So on that note, I'm off to lather myself in some cortisone goodness.....actually the Dr. is hoping to get the job.

Two peas in a pod

Jace has an uncle and his name is Jabe, and I tell you what, these two are peas from the same pod. They were nearly inseparable for the three days we were in St George.

Jace riding the bike that Uncle Jabe gave him.
Uncle Jabe does really cool things like build cars, and boats, and motorcycles.  He takes Robins, who find this VERY fascinating, over to his house to do these terrific things.  If  Truman, my Dad, was about 10 years younger, he would be going along as well, to do these terrific things.

In this picture: Joseph Truman (my Dad), Jeffery Truman (my brother), and Jace Charles (my son)

Here, Ryan is getting the bike seat just right, while keeping his Sunday shirt almost white.

One proud Dad, if I do say so myself!

Jace rode the bike all Sunday morning. After church we headed over to Uncle Jabe's place, and  boy did    the boys hit the jackpot.

Jabe's son Landon showed Jace a remote control monster truck

that  never left his side until we departed Southern Utah.
Ryan just couldn't resist
helping himself to

a little testosterone rush.

And Gracie DID not share the same affection for Uncle Jabe, as did her brother!

But, maybe next year.
